 Musical Theater Summer Camp 2017-Junior

Thank you for your interest in our musical theater summer camp! Please carefully read all the information. Registration begins Saturday, June 3 at the MMS Community Library and continues until camps are full.

General Information

  • Open to children finishing 4th grade through finishing 8th grade.
  • Camp Dates: July 5, 6 and 7 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. July 10-14 9:00-2:00, evening tech TBD (same number of hours as last year’s camp)
  • Performance will take place Friday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuition is $225 per child.  This includes t-shirt. Camper may need to purchase shoes and provide basic costume pieces.
  • There will be an audition June 15 at 5:00 pm in the HS auditorium to determine roles


Camp Day

Campers should arrive at 9 daily. Please do not arrive too early as no one will be in the auditorium before 8:50                                                                Campers should wear loose comfortable clothing they can move easily in.                                                                                                                                             Campers should wear sneakers or ballet or jazz shoes. NO OPEN SHOES NO FLIP FLOPS                                                                                                                     Campers should bring non-messy snacks and lunch and plenty of water. No refrigeration. No other drinks allowed in the auditorium, water only!  Please be on time to pick up your child.

Campers will be released only to people whose names are on the release list, and only with ID. This includes parents. You must show ID and be on the list. Changes to the pickup list must be made in writing. Please consider this when planning carpooling.                                             We cannot be responsible for any children who are not registered for camp (cousins, friends etc.)

Audition                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    We will be holding auditions on June 15 at 5:00 to determine roles for the show. All registered campers will be in the show, this audition will determine what part each camper will play.

Please prepare 30 seconds of any song from any musical. Campers may be asked to read various lines, and learn short dance combinations. This will be low-pressure, friendly and fun for the kids in a supportive environment. Scripts and music will be distributed so campers can arrive prepared for rehearsals. WE ARE DOING A JUNIOR SHOW THIS YEAR! ITS VERY IMPORTANT ACTORS PREPARE BEFORE CAMP BEGINS!!!

Performance                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         The show will be at WFHS on Friday July 14th at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be $5 at the door, no reservations. Age 2 and under free. We appreciate volunteers, but please be aware we cannot allow seat saving. Please have a friend or family member wait on line to choose seats.

Payments                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Payment of $225 must be made in full to reserve a spot in the camp. Check, cash or money order made out to OCEAN Arts. $15 sibling discount on 2nd child
